Meet the client
Meet the man who inspired this lawyer web design case study
Mr. Spivak is an attorney based in New York City. He is known to be a zealous defender against criminal charges and an expert lawyer who also specializes in estate planning, including wills, trusts and guardianships.
PHASE 1

Discovery
Naturally, every project begins with research. We talked extensively with Mr. Spivack listening to him explain all of his qualifications, how he operates his practice and what types of clients he prefers to work with. It allowed us to connect with Mr. Spivack on a personal as well professional level and these conversations not only set the stage for branding and messaging but also gave us a solid foundation on which to build the website and propel ongoing marketing. Even though Richard has provided winning legal representation for over 30 years, the previous website made it difficult for potential clients to find what they were looking for. There was definite room for improvement in terms of overall aesthetics and user experience. The previous website also lacked the needed SEO work that is necessary to be found on search engines by people searching for his services.
PHASE 2
Prototyping
After taking the time to get to know Richard and learning about his practice, we decided to go with a simple but effective design. Sometimes, while on the creative path, you realize that the more straight-forward designs work best to convey certain messages. With Mr. Spivak, we did just that.
What Richard needed was a website redesign to make their website more accessible, site-wide storytelling to showcase his passion, and a stronger means to describe his areas of law practice. So we recommended redesigning the existing pages as well as creating entirely new sections for the website and include elements that promote conversions.

Phase 4
The idea for the visuals was simple, but the overall functionality and flow of the website was anything but. To the naked eye, there is a clear splash page companied by interior pages. However, in creating the full design, we opted for a custom, responsive WordPress website based on the request that Mr. Spivack be able to update it himself. We utilized a modular, block design, which allowed us the ability to rearrange the pages seamlessly if needed.
Putting this together was no easy feat. We took the time to make sure that Mr. Spivak lost none of his SEO ranking and made the new website blazing fast. Finding the right design to reflect the company’s persona, getting the best photography, and piecing it all together took time and collaboration with Mr. Spivak. In the end this helped to secure the long-term success of both parties.
